The agreement of a Green Deal in June 2016 signified the start of the development of the Institute for Valorization and Expertise in Thermochemics Alkmaar (InVesta) into an expertise center for green gas and biomass gasification. Specific agreements were signed by the Minister of Economic Affairs, Mr. H.G.J. Kamp, Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management, Mrs. S.A.M. Dijksma, and delegates from Alkmaar local authority and the province of North Holland. Other signatories included collaborative parties TAQA, New Energy Coalition, ECN, Inholland University of Applied Sciences, Development Company Noord-Holland Noord and Alliander.
